Architecture of Commitment™ Diagnostics

Governance Diagnostics

A governance-first framework for examining how institutional conditions shape decision space, influence strategic possibility, and determine which futures organizations are able—or unable—to preserve.

Rather than evaluating organizational performance alone, Governance Diagnostics examines the governing conditions that shape what organizations can still consider, defend, fund, and sustain.

Guiding Question

The central question is not simply whether an organization is making good decisions. It is whether its governance conditions still allow important decisions to be considered, defended, funded, and sustained over time.

What the Diagnostic Examines

Rather than evaluating isolated decisions, the diagnostic examines the governing conditions that shape those decisions. It considers how information is weighted, which concerns survive review, where authority weakens under pressure, and how admissibility changes over time.

The objective is to identify governance conditions before they emerge as strategy failure, execution friction, AI governance breakdown, or the quiet loss of future strategic options.

Diagnostic Focus Areas

  • Decision input weighting
  • Decision Space™, admissibility, and survivability
  • Signal survivability under pressure
  • Board and executive governance conditions
  • AI-assisted decision governance
  • Commitment boundaries and accountability
  • Long-cycle innovation and deferred futures

Research Foundations

The diagnostic is derived from the broader Architecture of Commitment™ research program and is informed by the publication series, canonical figures, executive education materials, and ongoing research.
